Once Upon A Time

Once upon a time not long ago
I started on this road
I wanted it all
But my heart wasn’t whole

I say a prayer
In hopes that it’s not only for the lonely ears
So that it could bring healing tears
Releasing old fears

In togetherness with God, I take my next steps
Finding peace in sudden moments
Those that are closest
Reek of hopelessness
