The following is an excerpt from my upcoming book “Escaping the Jaws of Feminism”. Sign up here for news about the unexpected romance. NO AI was used to write this story. Read Chapter 5 A Gut-Wrenching Morning here.

A sleepless couple of hours ensued. She curled up in a ball with her blanket and waited for a reply. There was none.

At first, she thought that it might be too late and Gabriel was most likely asleep. He had been extremely firm with her about his routines and boundaries. Something she respected but in her current mental state didn’t remember.

“He must be with someone else,” she kept repeating in her head while she was restlessly turning in her king-sized bed.

She had a thing for the finer things in life. It was something people closest to her could never understand. On one hand, she yearned for simplicity and minimalism but always chose the premium wherever she could. She wanted the best. As a small-town town lower-middle class girl — there were things she desired but could never have in her youth. And now was the time to spoil herself in luxury.

But now, all of those things didn’t matter. She needed that reply from Gabriel immediately.

After a few hours of going back and forth between “he must be home asleep” and “he is in bed with someone else” she got up and made herbal tea.

She had learned the benefits of herbs at a course she took last year while on vacation. Her curious mind was always learning new things and when she wasn’t on top of the business world she let her esoteric and alternative side flourish freely. Without no one else knowing of course.

Amanda had heard the board members and other C-level executives in the company joke around about astrology, alternative medicine, and tantric practices. She understood quickly in her career that the corporate world isn’t a place for these matters. The smart woman she was — she kept that side of her life to herself.

After drinking the tea she tried all the meditation practices she had ever tried. “Money well spent,” she sarcastically thought.
